A look ahead: New ideas for senior programming

Senior centers have been enhancing the lives of older adults since the first center opened in New York City 59 years ago (U.S. Administration on Aging). The role of senior centers has expanded over the years and centers continue to evolve with each new generation.

As the Baby Boomers enter into a new phase of life, senior centers are promoting what they have to offer this new generation of older adults.  Boomers want new sources of recreation and socialization and senior centers are shaking it up with fresh ideas and expanded programming, all the while maintaining the offerings that their current membership has come to enjoy.
